G33K N3RD D0RK
Is a funny, personal, and pan-fandom podcast hosted by three names in Toronto geekery, G33KN3RDD0RK is all about the things we geeks, nerds, and dorks love: movies, comics, music, comedy, books, sex and intoxicants! Casual, hilarious, raunchy, thoughtful, and sometimes scathing, the dynamic between our hosts is unique and sometimes fraught with entertaining tension. Each episode is filled with musings, commentaries, and opinions about the latest in hot-button fan topics, followed up with reviews of what our hosts recently read/watched/ate, and one of our “make your fannish brain scream” games – either a satire of the film pitching process, or a trivia question aimed to educate and test both our hosts and our audience.
What makes our discussions unique is that not only are we not afraid to say if we loved or hated something we’re reviewing, but we also discuss why (and not always to peaceful results!) The depth and interest of the show comes from the conversations that arise between us, our individual backgrounds and experiences, and how our personal histories inform our disparate opinions. Of course, there’s also a Drinking Game based on each host’s pet topics, and that doesn’t hurt either!
Guests of the podcast include authors, editors, artists, actors, local big name geeks, and Toronto celebrities.
G33KN3ERDD0RK records once a month at a live venue, where the audience is encouraged to ask questions, participate in the discussion, and of course, play along with the Pitching, Trivia, and Drinking Games. We also record at local fan conventions, and make special appearances at comedy shows, bars, and events.
Gavin B. Stephens – The Nerd

Top-billing comedian and master of Nerdgasm Comedy, Gavin B. Stephens loves the WWE, comics, films, and making you laugh so hard you pee your spiderman underpants. Gavin was voted Toronto’s reader’s choice for standup comic in 2010 by Now Magazine, a writer and performer for CTV’s Comedy Now and the Gemini nominated Comedy Inc., was named by E! Entertainment TV as one of the “10 Funniest Canadians”, and was a Toronto Star Choice for his work on the Nerdgirls.com blog. Gavin has travelled to nearly every continent to perform his standup for enthusiastic and sold-out audiences, from SxSW in Austin, Texas, to the acclaimed Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, Canada. He brings the darkly funny humour, but also a thoughtful insight to the table, and what it meant to grow up geek in the multicultural suburbs of Toronto.
Jeff Brown – The Dork
The Corrupt One.
Jeff Brown is an unabashed comic book lover with a depth of knowledge about the medium that is highly respected on his homebase at Dorkshelf.com, where he is the comic reviewer. Fan of 80s cartoons, opinionated and social-media savvy, Jeff brings his superhero knowledge to the table, acting as mentor in all things print, and purveyor of salacious jokes and snappy put downs. Jeff brings the podcast a fresh perspective on what it meant to grow up geek in a small town, and is ever ready to completely interrupt anything anyone is saying to make the listeners laugh. Crafty, Crude, and fun, Jeff keeps the momentum going, plays host to and master of ceremonies of our games, and never fails to say something amazing at just the right moment. Or talk about that time he got stoned. You know, whatever.
